Get Rid of Excessive Sweating

Sweating after running a big race or taking a spinning class is one thing, but excessive sweating for no rhyme or reason may be due to a condition called hyperhidrosis. Not only is hyperhidrosis embarrassing, but it can be a nuisance as well. If you suffer from excessive sweating— especially under your arms—  you are not alone. In fact, it is estimated that around 2-3% of Americans suffer from this conditions. Luckily, we have a solution for you.

How Can Hyperhidrosis Be Treated?

Hyperhidrosis can be treated with a variety of treatments including Botox, but here at our office, Dr. Jack Bertolino likes to use a treatment called Vaser. To start out, we will fill the underarm area with a saline solution which numbs the area and shrinks the blood vessels. Then, a small Vaser probe will release sound technology into the sweat gland tissues to destroy them while also breaking up unwanted fatty tissues without damaging surrounding tissues. Once the probe is injected, the fat liquefies and dissolves into a tumescent solution. After which, small cannulas are inserted through a small incision to help remove the sweat gland and fat which reduces sweating.

Why Get Vaser Instead of Botox?

Although Botox is effective, it only lasts about 3-4 months on average. The biggest benefit of Vaser is that it’s permanent, which means you won’t have to worry about scheduling Botox injections every couple of months.

Does Vaser Hurt?

One of the biggest questions that we get from our patients is whether or not Vaser hurts. Luckily, pain from Vaser is minimal.
