Hyperhidrosis Treatment Buffalo, NY

Why You Don’t Need to Sweat the Small Stuff: Vaser for Hyperhidrosis

With summer just about here, you probably have a list of things you want to do; go on some new hikes, try some new places for brunch, spend time by the pool, and have some friends over for a barbecue may be a few of the fun things that you have at the top of your list. And although all of those things are fun, if you suffer from a condition like hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating— all of those fun scenarios can suddenly turn into something a bit more embarrassing. Here at our office, Dr. Jack Bertolino and his staff have got you covered with a treatment called Vaser.

What’s Vaser?

Vaser initially gained popularity as a body contouring procedure. However, here at our office, we use it for more than just body contouring— we use it to treat patients with hyperhidrosis. Vaser uses ultrasound technology to break up unwanted fatty sweat gland tissues that contribute to your excessive and incessant sweating. Once the fat has been broken up, it is liquefied and then sucked out with a device called a cannula.

Why Not Just Get Botox?

You may be surprised to learn that Botox is another alternative to treat hyperhidrosis. Botox works to temporarily block the nerve signals that stimulate your sweat glands. And although Botox can be effective in treating hyperhidrosis, the only problem is that it’s temporary whereas Vaser is permanent.

If it seems like you are constantly having to change your shirt because of excessive sweat or if you get embarrassed all of the time by the amount of sweat you have on your clothes, then you may have a condition called hyperhidrosis. Luckily, Dr. Jack Bertolino can help you find permanent relief from this condition so that you can live a more normal, confident life.

Cellulite Treatment Buffalo, NY

Lost Weight but Still Have Cellulite? How We Can Help

Nothing can be quite as discouraging as losing weight before summer. Not only can weight loss alone be hard enough, but reaching goals on the scale and having the body of your dreams can sometimes look like two completely different things. For instance, although that number on the scale may be a dream come true, you may still have cellulite on your buttocks and upper thighs that make you feel discouraged. Luckily, here at our office, Dr. Jack Bertolino treats a variety of concerns including cellulite. Let’s take a closer look at cellulite and cellulite treatments.

Anyone Can Get It

Although there are some genetic implications in regards to cellulite, it can strike any person at anytime— even if you have a supermodel body. In fact, you may be surprised to know that some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities have enough cellulite themselves to keep them out of a swimsuit.

It Can Be Treated

Because cellulite doesn’t necessarily always respond to diet and exercise, it can seem impossible to get rid of. However, with our ThermiSmooth 250 or SmoothShapes procedures, we can help you get rid of that unwanted cellulite and finally show off the body you’ve worked so hard for. By smoothing out the dimpled skin from the inside out, these treatments help patients get rid of dimpled, cellulite skin with no downtime at all.

During your initial consultation at our office, Dr. Jack Bertolino will conduct a brief physical examination and help determine what cellulite treatment is best for you.

Take advantage of our special that’s running until June 1st where you can get 20% off your first cellulite reduction treatment and 25% off of your second treatment. Ready to schedule your appointment? Contact our office today and call: (716) 633-6100.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment Buffalo, NY

Why a Multi-Step Skin Care System Is Worth It

When it comes to having younger, more youthful skin, it takes a lot more than just investing in good skin care— although that can help too. Here at Dr. Jack Bertolino’s office, we specialize in a variety of different skin care solutions to help patients temporarily get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, get glowing skin, and feel like themselves again. One of the skincare solutions we offer uses a combination of platelet-rich plasma and laser. So, why is this multi-step procedure so effective? Let’s take a closer look.

What Is This Multi-Step Procedure?

Our electric plasma lift is a popular procedure at Smooth Solutions Medical Aesthetics. With this procedure, we use a combination of RF or lasers to traumatize the skin at first, and then we inject PRP into the skin or topically to help it heal.

How Is It Done?

PRP is a state of the art procedure, that is popular amongst celebrities everywhere and more, and more of our patients are hopping on board. By extracting the plasma from your blood and then injecting it into your skin, it stimulates stem cell responses and encourages new collagen and blood vessels to help repair damaged skin and reduce the signs of aging. However, in conjunction with a laser, our electric plasma procedure, helps the plasma to penetrate even further into the skin and leave patients with even better results.

What Are the Benefits?

The good news about PRP is that there is no risk of an allergic reaction because we use your blood and plasma. Additionally, there are eight essential growth factors, and healing proteins that are released are extracted from your blood which helps rejuvenate your skin. Additionally, many patients receive long-lasting results as well.

Sometimes one procedure is better than one– which is why our multi-step electric plasma procedure at Smooth Skins Medical Spa is popular amongst our patients. Are you ready to schedule your skin care consultation? Call our Buffalo office today at (716) 633-6100.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment Buffalo, NY

Get Rid of Excessive Sweating

Sweating after running a big race or taking a spinning class is one thing, but excessive sweating for no rhyme or reason may be due to a condition called hyperhidrosis. Not only is hyperhidrosis embarrassing, but it can be a nuisance as well. If you suffer from excessive sweating— especially under your arms—  you are not alone. In fact, it is estimated that around 2-3% of Americans suffer from this conditions. Luckily, we have a solution for you.

How Can Hyperhidrosis Be Treated?

Hyperhidrosis can be treated with a variety of treatments including Botox, but here at our office, Dr. Jack Bertolino likes to use a treatment called Vaser. To start out, we will fill the underarm area with a saline solution which numbs the area and shrinks the blood vessels. Then, a small Vaser probe will release sound technology into the sweat gland tissues to destroy them while also breaking up unwanted fatty tissues without damaging surrounding tissues. Once the probe is injected, the fat liquefies and dissolves into a tumescent solution. After which, small cannulas are inserted through a small incision to help remove the sweat gland and fat which reduces sweating.

Why Get Vaser Instead of Botox?

Although Botox is effective, it only lasts about 3-4 months on average. The biggest benefit of Vaser is that it’s permanent, which means you won’t have to worry about scheduling Botox injections every couple of months.

Does Vaser Hurt?

One of the biggest questions that we get from our patients is whether or not Vaser hurts. Luckily, pain from Vaser is minimal.

Excessive sweating can make you feel like you’ll never own a white shirt ever again— at least one without yellow stains in it. If you suffer from hyperhidrosis, let us help you get rid of your excessive sweating for good. Schedule your consultation at our office today: (716) 633-6100.

O-Shot® Buffalo NY

The O-Shot Vs The P-Shot

When it comes to shots, if you were to put both the O-Shot and the P-Shot into a boxing ring, let’s just say you would have two winners. As two very different shots that help with increased sexuality, sexual pleasure, and more, the O-Shot and P-Shot are two things that are worth learning more about.

What’s the O-Shot?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a unique therapy that is primarily popular at helping increase collagen in the face. However, PRP is also used in treatments like the O-Shot. By extracting the plasma from your blood and then injecting it into certain parts of your body— like your vagina— patients experience tremendous results.

In female patients, we use the O-shot to help with a variety of concerns such as a decreased sexual drive, painful intercourse, difficulty getting an orgasm, and difficulty getting aroused. Patients who get the O-shot experience:

  • Increased sensitivity
  • Tighter vaginal skin
  • More satisfying, improved intercourse
  • Increased sexual desire

What’s the P-Shot?

The P-Shot can work wonders in men who struggle with erectile dysfunction. By using platelet-rich plasma and then injecting it into the penis, the P-Shot helps to:

  • Enlarge the penis immediately
  • Create firmer and stronger erections
  • Straighten the penis
  • Increase sexual sensation
  • Enhance other therapies like Viagra
  • Increase circulation and blood flow to the penis

The results from the P-shot are immediate and will increase after 2-4 weeks.

There are unique benefits to both the O-Shot and P-Shot for men and women. If you want to learn more about these shots, schedule a consultation with Dr. Jack Bertolino at our office today: (716) 633-6100.

Hair Restoration Buffalo NY

What’s Hair Restoration?

Whether you’re a male or a female, there’s something to be said about having a full head of hair. After all, why would Chip Gaines always brag about his hair on Fixer Upper? However, although some people are blessed to never lose a hair on their head, there are others who start to show signs of hair loss before they ever even get their first gray hair. If you are suffering from thinning hair, Dr. Jack Bertolino at Smooth Solutions Medical Aesthetics has a hair restoration solution for you to consider. Let’s take a closer look.

How Does It Work?

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP has really taken the skincare world by storm because of the popular vampire facial procedure. However, PRP can also be sued to help restore thinning hair as well. During this process, we will take blood from one part of your body and then extract the plasma from it. Once we have extracted the plasma, we will then place it on your scalp and leave it on for about 24 hours without touching it or watching it. In some instances, we may also use the Omnilux red LED light which is a device that strengthens follicles and promotes hair growth.

How Often Do I Have to Get it Done?

Although results vary from patient to patient, we typically require three PRP treatments and eight red light treatments over the span of three months. During your initial consultation, however, we will be able to better determine how many treatment plans will be needed for you to get the full results.

If your hair is thinning, hair plugs or implants aren’t your only option. To learn more about Platelet Rich Plasma hair restoration, schedule a consultation at our Buffalo office today: (716) 633-6100.

Scrub-a-Dub: Why Exfoliating Is Important

PearlYou know that one of the biggest no-no’s in the skincare industry is going to bed with makeup on your face because it causes breakouts. And although you may be aware of some basic skin care tips and recommendations, make sure that you don’t forget to exfoliate. Whether you choose to use an exfoliating face scrub, mask, or get a skin care treatment done by Dr. Jack Bertolino at Smooth Solutions, there’s one thing that’s worth talking about: the benefits.

It Can Breathe

Even though your heart, lungs, and the lady at church are likely the first things that come to mind when you hear the term “organ,” your skin is actually the largest organ on your body. As such, it’s important that you ensure that it can breathe properly. As dead skin builds up and dry patches form, however, it can make it harder for your skin to breathe— which is where properly exfoliating comes into play. By helping you get rid of dry, chapped skin, exfoliating is one of the best ways to improve oxygen flow and help your skin breathe.

It’s Clearer

Everyone is prone to getting a pimple or two at least every so often— if not more. One of the best ways to fight blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples? With an exfoliator. By getting rid of trapped dirt, germs, and bacteria on your skin, exfoliating can helps stabilize the oil production on your skin and get rid of that acne.

It Helps Moisturize

If you are spending hundreds of dollars on skincare products, but you aren’t properly exfoliating, your moisturizer isn’t going to be able to penetrate your skin. By getting rid of dry, chapped skin, exfoliating helps your moisturizer reach into the layers of your skin and hydrate it from the inside out.

Here at our office, we offer a variety of exfoliating skincare solutions including exfoliators and treatments. To schedule your consultation, call 716) 633-6100.
