Why You Don’t Need to Sweat the Small Stuff: Vaser for Hyperhidrosis

With summer just about here, you probably have a list of things you want to do; go on some new hikes, try some new places for brunch, spend time by the pool, and have some friends over for a barbecue may be a few of the fun things that you have at the top of your list. And although all of those things are fun, if you suffer from a condition like hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating— all of those fun scenarios can suddenly turn into something a bit more embarrassing. Here at our office, Dr. Jack Bertolino and his staff have got you covered with a treatment called Vaser.

What’s Vaser?

Vaser initially gained popularity as a body contouring procedure. However, here at our office, we use it for more than just body contouring— we use it to treat patients with hyperhidrosis. Vaser uses ultrasound technology to break up unwanted fatty sweat gland tissues that contribute to your excessive and incessant sweating. Once the fat has been broken up, it is liquefied and then sucked out with a device called a cannula.

Why Not Just Get Botox?

You may be surprised to learn that Botox is another alternative to treat hyperhidrosis. Botox works to temporarily block the nerve signals that stimulate your sweat glands. And although Botox can be effective in treating hyperhidrosis, the only problem is that it’s temporary whereas Vaser is permanent.

If it seems like you are constantly having to change your shirt because of excessive sweat or if you get embarrassed all of the time by the amount of sweat you have on your clothes, then you may have a condition called hyperhidrosis. Luckily, Dr. Jack Bertolino can help you find permanent relief from this condition so that you can live a more normal, confident life.
